Akward confession

What awkard moments have you had with someone that was your friend who wanted to be more then just friends...

  1. I've got a story, and it is pretty awkward. Names changed of course.

Once upon a time there was a guy named Joe who auditioned and became the lead for a play. This play required him to kiss a girl who played his romantic interest, Kate. Joe was feeling nervous about it but the girl, who was a friend, insisted that the kiss wouldn't mean anything, and that the two would just be friends. Kate emphasized this to the point that she insisted on a 'peck' to show it meant nothing. Joe felt awkward but obliged to her request to show it meant nothing to him.

Rehearsals went well and Joe managed to avoid any further 'practices' until the final dress rehearsals. Joe thought that things were going well between him and Kate, and that no feelings were being developed/exchanged.

Nearing the night of the final performance Joe heard rumors that Kate was beginning to have feelings for him, and so Joe intentionally became a little more distant hoping that she would notice; it didn't help.

Following the performance Joe got a text from Kate saying, "I know you know the way I feel about you, and I know you don't feel the same way. Meet me at the park tomorrow at 6p to talk." Joe didn't know what to do; he thought "Well if you already know why do we need to talk?" So Joe responded with "I can't make it tomorrow because it's my birthday." Which in fact it was. To which Kate replied, "Okay, then maybe we can talk later." Joe that was it, but it wasn't.

Kate texted him later that week, "I'm going to the park at 8:30 tonight. Meet me there to talk. You don't have to come, but I'm going to be there." Joe's chivalry kicked in and he couldn't stand thinking that a girl would be at a park alone at night, so he decided to go.

After getting there they started chatting and when she was avoiding the reason why they were there he immediately got to the point and stated that he didn't have feelings for her. She said she knew that. They talked for a little longer (with Joe hoping that it would put to rest any further feelings or doubts, which it did). That ended it but it's still a little... awkward... between them.
